THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD FOR LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL TODAY AND TONIGHT
ACROSS THE MID STATE...INCLUDING THOSE AREAS THAT WERE HIT HARDEST
BY THE HEAVY RAINS LAST TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. A LOOK AT THE
ATMOSPHERE THIS MORNING SHOWED A VERY MOIST ENVIRONMENT...AND THE
POTENTIAL FOR SOME AREAS TO RECEIVE AS MUCH AS TWO INCHES OF RAIN
OR MORE...IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME... DURING THUNDERSTORMS TODAY
AND TONIGHT. THIS WILL LEAD TO RAPID RUN OFF AND THE LIKELIHOOD
OF PONDING OF WATER...AND POSSIBLY FLASH FLOODING.
SOME THUNDERSTORMS...WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS...WILL LINGER OVER
SOUTHERN AND EASTERN SECTIONS OF THE MID STATE ON SUNDAY...ALONG WITH A
CONTINUED POTENTIAL FOR PONDING OF WATER IN LOW LYING...POORLY
DRAINED...AREAS

STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLY TODAY AND TONIGHT
AS WELL. STRONG DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS WILL LIKELY BE THE
BIGGEST THREAT FROM THESE STORMS.
